Dungeons

Down in the dungeons in a room surrounded with jars of potion ingredients, cubbies with potion-brewing supplies, and a gargoyle's mouth which spits ice cold water into a basin in the corner, potions brew, sometimes successfully, sometimes not. Step inside to learn the intricacies of potions.

Ground Floor

Up the steps to the glorious castle Hogwarts and just inside the set of magnificent double doors lies the Entrance Hall. Gleaming slabs of marble cover every inch of the foyer, a welcoming and impressive sight to all who step foot inside it. This is the beginning of the school. What you find from here could be anything; classes filled with lessons, dormitories filled with students, and every inch consumed by magic.

A vast chamber with an enchanted ceiling which mirrors the sky outside is where meals, feasts, and other events occur. Four long tables for the four houses: closest to the doors from the Entrance Hall is Slytherin, then Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, and next to the far wall, Gryffindor. The professors sit at the High Table, a table on a raised platform at the front of the room.

Perhaps it is due to the assorted potted plants throughout the room or it could be her dirt covered greenhouse robes hanging near the door. In any event, if one cannot locate the professor in the greenhouses, this is the next likely location.

Directly off the Entrance Hall sits an imposing room panelled in dark wood and dominated by a long ovoid table surrounded by large mis-matched chairs. Guarded by a pair of smart-mouthed gargoyles, it is the Hogwarts Staff Room, where the movers and shakers of the school create tremors of policy.

Located on the ground floor, the Caretaker's office is a place you never want to visit. Here you will find filing cabinet with records of the misdeeds of students, chains and manacles (just in case!), a cabinet full of confiscated magic items, and lots of forms to write up malefactors. Be careful, this office is not a good place to be!

Understanding Muggles perceptions of how the world connects up is a big problem for Wizarding people. Letting go of a lot of our assumptions to grasp how limited Muggle perceptions can be and understanding this is vital for an understanding of how the Wizarding world can exist unperceived alongside the Muggle world. In this classroom, located on the first floor, students will investigate such matters.

Though little is known of DaDA professor, the office gives few clues to who they are. Scattered amongst tools of the dark arts, personal items such as photographs are hidden. This windowless second floor office is where one may find the professor.

However, since the Headmaster teaches this class, the office is sort of...unused.

Every bookcase and shelf contains some interesting artifact collected on your professor's travels throughout the muggle world. Mainly house-hold items, one can expect this second floor office to be cluttered and scattered, but homey nonetheless.

Located within the library are thousands of books on thousands of shelves as well as the Cafe du Livre. A grassy oval field, 500 feet long by 180 feet wide with a small circle in the center of the field where the balls are released, is located on the school grounds for quidditch matches. Shouts and chants from the crowds in the stands carry far and wide, alerting all magical folk and creatures of the exciting event.

Tapping just the right brick in the wall behind the Leaky Cauldron pub in London will reveal an archway which is a portal into Diagon Alley, a long cobbled street where is to be found a strange and exciting assortment of shops and restaurants. But be cautioned, traveling down an alley connected near Gringrotts one may find themselves in Knockturn Alley. Where rows of shops are devoted to the Dark Arts. Be careful of what may become of your reputation if you are found there.

They also oversee interactions with other magic-users from other nations and provide a framework of law for magic-users with its realm.
